> About the AGS >
The American Geriatrics Society launched the state affiliate program in 1991 in order to strengthen its presence and influence at the grass roots level. The program has successfully increased the visibility of geriatric medicine throughout the country and has helped foster an educational and professional network for geriatric health care providers. AGS affiliates have worked to improve the quality of geriatrics education across the U.S. and have proven to be an effective force in shaping healthcare legislation at the state and national level.
