The data presented in these figures and tables contain information about the training and practice of geriatric medicine gathered by conducting national surveys or from secondary data sources.   • Practice of Geriatrics
    Information on geriatricians and geriatric psychiatrists; visits to specialists by patients over the age of 65; compensation data; and common health problems of older Americans. 
  • Academic Geriatric Programs
    Findings from our surveys of academic leaders in geriatrics at allopathic and osteopathic medical schools and compensation of medical school faculty. 
  • Fellowship Programs
    Data from our 2001 surveys of geriatric medicine and geriatric psychiatry fellowship programs; data from the Rochester national survey of fellowship-trained geriatricians; and multi-year data from the AMA and AAMC National GME Census and Veterans Health Administration.
