AGS Joint Sponsorship of Continuing Medical Education (CME) Activities
The AGS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. Our ACCME accreditation allows us to jointly sponsor CME programs developed by AGS State Affiliates that are not ACCME accredited. AGS limits its policy on joint sponsorship to live educational programs.
AGS will consider fulfilling the role of joint sponsor for state affiliates at the discretion of the Professional Education Executive Committee provided that the ACCME Essential Areas and the Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education have been met. Requests for joint sponsorship must be submitted to the AGS in writing and require completion of the Joint Sponsorship Application Form at least six months in advance of the meeting date.
