AGS AFFILIATES, MEMBERS and SERVICES Our Growing Affiliate Network The local, state, and regional efforts of AGS' growing affiliate network are crucial to the Society's successes. AGS extends its thanks to members whose initiative and hard work resulted in the establishment of the Indiana Geriatrics Society in 2005, bringing the total number of AGS affiliates to 25. AGS was pleased to honor the South Carolina Geriatrics Society (SCGS) with the 2005 Affiliate Achievement Award, in recognition of its remarkable membership growth and activity. In less than a year, the SCGS increased its membership by more than 400%. Its leaders also introduced a quarterly newsletter and a variety of educational programs for members from a variety of disciplines. AGS Members As evidenced by the membership demographic information below, AGS continues to have a vital membership that represents the entire spectrum of professionals involved in all aspects of geriatric healthcare and research.
Membership Services AGS Week in Review and AGS News In order to provide members with frequent and timely updates on issues of professional, clinical, and legislative importance, the AGS launched the AGS Week in Review online newsletter in early 2005. This new communications vehicle was developed at a critical time when our members and the public were attempting to navigate the complex policies of Medicare Part D. My AGS, the members' only section of the AGS Web site, was improved and expanded in 2005 to include the following:
AGS Career Connection-- an interactive, integrated online job bank for geriatrics health care professionals has proved to be a valuable resources for AGS members and others looking for job opportunities or searching for geriatrics professionals to join their healthcare teams.
