Assessment and Management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Older Adults

Learning Objectives: (1) diagnose COPD and recognize the parameters of the disease as it progresses; (2) develop individual patient management goals for the COPD patient; (3) appropriately prescribe current pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies for COPD; and (4) refer appropriate patients for hospice and palliative care in advanced COPD and identify barriers to advance care planning in COPD.
