The Osteoporosis Piece of the Multi-Morbidity Puzzle

Learning Objectives: (1) identify common diseases that interact with bone, and review the evidence for their impact on osteoporosis and fracture risk; (2) identify common drugs that impact bone health and review the evidence for their impact on osteoporosis and fracture risk; (3) describe how osteoporosis interacts with other common diseases of aging to result in functional impairment and decline, using depression as a case example; and (4) provide a framework for how to make osteoporosis treatment decisions in the face of multiple co-morbidities and competing risks.
