Learning Objectives: (1) identify and analyze hospice eligibility criteria and timing for terminally ill geriatric patients with various diagnoses, and to discuss how hospice programs can help physicians more easily care for these patients; (2) identify and discuss various care settings in which older adults may receive hospice care, highlighting some cultural preferences; (3) practice how to frame and discuss hospice care for patients and families, as well as choosing the ''right'' hospice given each patient's individualized needs and discuss communication with a culturally competent approach; and (4) explain how to optimally work with the hospice interdisciplinary team, including medications, care coordination, billing, and management differences.
