Achieving AAMC Geriatrics Competencies: How to Get it Done

Learning Objectives: (1) describe the 26 Medical Student Competencies in Geriatrics within 8 domains; (2) identify opportunities to integrate the geriatrics concepts and skills that are needed to achieve the Competencies in the standard medical school curriculum (pre-clinical and clinical); (3) locate existing, proven and ready-to-use tools that can help integrate the geriatrics concepts and skills in a standard medical school curriculum (pre-clinical and clinical); and/or efficiently deliver content in dedicated geriatrics curricula; and (4) identify opportunities to adapt and/or adopt the existing tools to the unique opportunities and settings at the participant's own medical school.
