Learning Objectives: (1) describe the role of HIV testing in older patients in screening and diagnosis; (2) review considerations in selecting and customizing therapy for individual older adults with common or complex medical problems; (3) identify clinical complications of HIV and its treatment that require surveillance and to review current approaches to the prevention and management of these problems; and (4) identify special concerns and needs of older patients with HIV in maintaining independence and quality of life.
