Call for Annual Meeting Program Proposals

The Annual Meeting Program Committee invites you to submit a proposal for consideration for the 2012 AGS annual meeting. We will be accepting proposal submissions on our Online Submission Site.

2012 Theme: "Patient Safety and Quality.  What Geriatrics has to Offer."

Given the recent HHS national collaboration to provide better care and reduce costs (Partnership for Patients: Better Care, Lower Costs) the theme of the 2012 AGS Annual Meeting is “Patient Safety and Quality.  What Geriatrics has to Offer.”  We invite you to submit a proposal sharing best practices or tools that have been shown to keep patients safe, improve care, and reduce costs.  The theme also provides us with a great opportunity to recognize and share the significant and meaningful differences we make in geriatrics.  While we welcome submission of all creative proposals, we especially invite proposals that address this year’s meeting theme.

The Committee makes every effort to create a balanced educational experience for geriatrics professionals from all disciplines. The AGS strongly encourages program proposals that focus on clinical issues in geriatrics and that involve speakers from multiple disciplines. The AGS also strongly encourages proposals that address cultural competence in geriatric practice. Please carefully review the guidelines on the online site and submit your complete proposal by June 27, 2011.
