Genetics of Longevity

Research suggests that human longevity is partly heritable. Longevity genes might slow down the rate of age-related changes in cells, increase resistance to environmental stresses and prevent major chronic diseases and aging phenotypes. This symposium will summarize the state of the art evidence on the genetic component of longevity and start thinking about possible new direction for the future.
