A word from the New FIT Chair

Joseph V. Agostini, M.D.
2002 FIT Chair
Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program
Yale University School of Medicine

Greetings to all current and incoming fellows! I hope everyone is looking forward to the Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., and I look forward to meeting many of you at the Fellows-in-Training breakfast, which has been carefully planned by our current chair, Dr. Diane Chau. My primary reason for wanting to be chair was to work with many of you on important issues faced by fellows. I think the Fellows-in-Training Section represents an important forum to exchange ideas about clinical training, research interests, and patient care. Consequently, I hope to continue to foster ongoing opportunities for communication (e.g., through this newsletter and electronically via email and the AGS website) on issues important to our careers.

I am excited to talk with many geriatric fellows at the upcoming AGS meeting to discuss how we can build upon the accomplishments of past chairs and, at the same time, enhance participation of as many fellows as possible. Please share with me your thoughts and suggestions now and throughout the year. Thank you very much.
