The Institute for Healthcare Improvement Expedition on Preventing Hospital Complications in Older Adults
About the AGS & IHI Partnership
AGS has partnered with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) on a web-based training program that will help hospitals to prevent complications in older adults. As a partner for this expedition, AGS has assisted the IHI team with identification of faculty and content for the Expedition.
About this Expedition
To teach hospitals to assess risk factors and prevent hazards that older adults face, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is offering Preventing Hospital Complications in Older Adults. This web-based Expedition will show teams how to implement and test a system to recognize risk factors and prevent the harm that can accompany a hospital stay. Participants will be provided with tools, guidance from faculty and other participants, and coaching on improvement science — all with a goal of creating a system to improve outcomes and reduce harm for older adults.
