Call for Manuscripts
Geriatrics and Physical Therapy
The Journal of Physical Therapy Education (JOPTE) seeks manuscripts addressing best educational practices to prepare physical therapists and physical therapist assistants for working with older adults. This special edition of JOPTE, co-edited by John O. Barr, PT, PhD, FAPTA, and Rita Wong, PT, EdD, FAPTA, is intended to focus on identifying the curricular elements and instructional changes that will be necessary to ensure the provision of high quality physical therapy services for older adults. We are particularly interested in research reports, methods / model presentations, case reports, and systematic reviews concerned with physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education. International Istanbul Initiative on Aging
The International Istanbul Initiative on Ageing (IIIA) is calling for full papers pertaining to four themes and 13 subthemes, which will be peer-reviewed by an international jury. The best overall paper will be awarded $5,000 and the best paper in each theme will be awarded $2,000. Selected papers will also be published in a special edition of Global Ageing (a biannual journal produced by the IFA), and will be distributed to all delegates of the Congress. In addition, there is an Age-Friendly Innovation Competition that will recognize age-friendly designs and initiatives from all around the world. Entrants will be provided with the opportunity to showcase their design or initiative to all delegates of the Congress. The Best Existing Age-Friendly Initiative or Design will be awarded $20,000 and the Best “Future Vision” of an Age-Friendly City or Community will be awarded $20,000.
