Research Agenda Setting Project (RASP)

The mission of the AGS Geriatrics-for-Specialists Initiative Research Agenda-Setting Project (RASP)  is to provide a research agenda that enhances the quality of care that  specialists in ten surgical disciplines and related medical fields provide older patients. RASP is an undertaking of the AGS' Geriatrics for Specialists Initiative, which is dedicated to improving care for the elderly by enhancing specialists' knowledge of geriatrics and is funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation.

RASP aims to fill gaps in knowledge in each specialty area, to clarify inconsistencies in the existing literature, and to point to possible resolutions of ongoing controversies. The specialties are: general surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, thoracic surgery, urology,gynecology,  ophthalmology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation
