San Mateo Medical Center seeks a License Eligible Clinical Social Worker for the Ron Robinson Senior Care Center, which is designed to meet a growing community need to provide comprehensive services to older adults in San Mateo County, with a particular focus on those at-risk of losing independence due to organic brain or dementia related disorders. The Center's distinctive multidisciplinary approach is based on the unique capabilities of the Health Services Agency and Medical Center to provide mental health care, older adult social services and patient care medical expertise under one roof.
The position will provide specialized psychosocial assessment, case management, and counseling services to adults and families. Responsibilities include performing initial diagnostic evaluations, collecting and evaluating medical or psychiatric data, determining and developing appropriate treatment plans, providing case management services, and making referrals to appropriate program resources. Requires knowledge of current philosophy, principles, and practices for services to geriatric clients; individual, group and family psychodynamics as they relate to adults; psychological diagnostic methods and terminology; and legal, social and health services systems in the County, including private agencies and other community resources. Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.
Salary:
Level I: $4,150 - $5,187/month
Level II: $4,655 - $5,818/month
License:
Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker. California license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) must be received within six months of hire for this position.
