FIT Recruitment Program

The Fellows-in-Training Recruitment Program rewards Fellowship programs that recruit their FITs to become members of the AGS.

Rewards:
Directors who recruit 100% of the FITs in their program to the AGS in the current membership year receive a free two-year subscription to the Geriatrics Review Syllabus Teaching Slides Website, and each FIT in the program gets a free Geriatrics At Your Fingertips (GAYF) app download for the iPhone or iPad.

AGS Benefits:
Encourage your Fellows to join AGS and they will enjoy the many member benefits tailored to their specific needs and interests. FITs will also receive the benefits available to other AGS members and more, such as: the opportunity to join our Junior Faculty Special Interest Group, opportunities to participate in the Annual Meeting’s highly successful Mentoring Program, and a subscription to the AGS quarterly trainee e-newsletter; all for a significantly reduced membership fee of just $80 a year.

Process:

1. Submit a complete list of all FITs in your program, noting the start and end dates of their training and their email address, to  membership@americangeriatrics.org.

2. Program Directors will receive a membership promotion package to distribute to their Fellows.  AGS will also email membership information directly to the FITs in the program to help with recruitment.

3. AGS will notify each Program Director when 100% of Fellows in that program have become AGS members and will provide instructions on how to access the free subscription to the GRS Teaching Slides Website, and how each Fellow can download their GAYF app.
