The new 2007-2008 edition of Geriatrics At Your Fingertips (GAYF) for Pocket PCs and Palms debuts this month. In response to the popularity of the first two editions of GAYF for handheld devices -- released in 2004 and 2005 -- the newest edition will soon be made available for download from www.geriatricsatyourfingertips.org. Thanks to feedback from those using previous editions, the new edition has been revised to include a more user-friendly registration and downloading process; clearer and more intuitive navigation; and automatic updating that provides users with periodic content revisions based on the latest drug information and clinical guidelines. "It was hard to imagine improvements, but the AGS and software developer USBMIS have done their jobs," pdaMD.com noted in a review of the 2005 edition. "The interface is really clean and aesthetically pleasing. You can search the index alphabetically or search the comprehensive table of contents. There is also a useful Tools tab that includes Abbreviations, Assessment Instruments, and Calculating Equations. Geriatrics At Your Fingertips ... contains a wealth of information that is useful beyond the geriatric patient. It deserves a good trial in order to get used to all of the information it contains." In light of the reception the 2005 edition received, the all new and updated 2007-2008 edition shouldn't be missed. |
