UPDATE: PECOS Enrollment Extended to January 3, 2011

All ordering and referring physicians now have until January 3, 2011 to enroll in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS). This marks an extension from the previously announced Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) deadline of July 6.  As of January 3, all physicians who order or refer home health care, durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, supplies (DMEPOS), as well as specialist services and laboratory, must be enrolled in the system to prevent claim rejections.
