February 9th, 2017
In light of the revised federal nursing facility regulations that went into effect in late November 2016, Justice in Aging, with collaboration from the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care and the Center for Medicare Advocacy, has released issue briefs for residents, family members, advocates, and others to better understand how the regulations are changing nursing facility care:
All issue briefs are available in the publications section of the Justice in Aging website.
The same three organizations are presenting a webinar on Wed., Feb. 15 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM EST, that takes a closer look at certain provisions of the revised regulations. The webinar will focus on the following sections:
- Assessment, Care Planning & Discharge Planning
- Nursing Services
- Medication Practices (including unnecessary and antipsychotic drugs)
In addition, the webinar will address how the current political environment threatens the regulations and their enforcement. Learn more.
