Senators Reintroduce CHRONIC Care Act: Last week, Senators Orrin Hatch and Ron Wyden, along with other leaders of the Senate Finance Committee, reintroduced the Creating High-Quality Results and Outcomes Necessary to Improve Chronic (CHRONIC) Care Act of 2017, S. 870, which would make changes to Medicare payment policies to improve care for the chronically ill, advance team-based care coordination, deliver high-quality care at home, and improve overall health quality outcomes for beneficiaries. The bill would also extend the Independence at Home Demonstration and permit additional practices to participate in the program. A section-by-section summary is available here. The bill is very similar to the version released in December 2016. Of note, the legislation features many of the key recommendations that the AGS submitted in June 2015 and January 2016 in response to the Committee's request for feedback.
