GeriPsych Consult: This app has been developed to assist healthcare providers in managing psychotic symptoms and disorders in older adults. It is based on two publications of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), the 7th edition of The Geriatrics Review Syllabus and 2011 edition of Geriatrics At Your Fingertips.

Geriatrics At Your Fingertips: Providing high-quality health care for older adults requires special knowledge and skills.  Geriatrics At Your Fingertips (GAYF) is an essential tool for all healthcare professionals and trainees who care for older people.  It provides immediate access to the comprehensive information needed to make clinical decisions in a variety of healthcare settings.  Since its initial publication in 1998, GAYF's up-to-date content and portable format quickly made it the American Geriatrics Society's (AGS) best-selling publication.

AGS Pocket Guide to Common Immunizations in the Older Adult,  a new iPhone application which the AGS recently developed with an educational grant from Merck. The application, available for just 99 cents, includes essential information about four must-have vaccines for seniors -- the flu, pneumococcal, herpes zoster, and tetanus/diphtheria immunizations. It also includes information about five additional vaccinations that older travelers going abroad may need.  For each of the four must-have vaccinations, the application includes  suggested “Talking Points with Patients.”

Geriatrics Cultural Navigator, a new AGS iPhone application designed to help healthcare professionals effectively care for older adults of different ethnicities, is downloadable for FREE. This new app is based on the Society’s  Doorway Thoughts: Cross-Cultural Health Care for Older Adults Series (Volumes I-III),  which addresses the role of ethnicity in health decision-making in the U.S. “Doorway thoughts” are factors that the culturally competent practitioner reflects upon before walking into any consultation room -- factors that can affect patients' and their family members’ ability to understand and accept and adhere to prescribed regimens.
