Las Vegas, NV - The American Geriatrics Society (AGS) is pleased to announce that because of the the overwhelming response to the first volume of the GRS5 Teaching Slides, Volume I, it is now launching a GRS5 Teaching Slides Website. This new website currently includes slide presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint® on 20 topics taken from the 5th edition of the Society's ground-breaking Geriatrics Review Syllabus. New topics will be added to the site on an ongoing basis.
Available PowerPoint® presentations cover topics important in the care of older adults such as osteoporosis, delirium, palliative care, dementia, falls, urinary incontinence and preventive care.
The slides were created to as a resource for clinicians who lecture on these topics. Each presentation is designed to provide one-hour seminars for use with faculty, fellows, residents, or students. Case studies and answers are also included in each presentation set, and notes pages below each opening title include suggestions for lecturers.
According to AGS Chair Dr. Richard W. Besdine, "The GRS5 teaching slides are a good resource for the beginning instructor and for seasoned lecturers who are looking for a basic presentation on the topic that they can enhance with their own materials."
A two-year subscription to the GRS5 Teaching Slides Website providing full access to all current content as well as to regularly added topics in development is available for $39.95. Subscribers can modify, download, print, and save the presentations on their personal computers.
