The National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment

Opportunity Description:

The National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment (NCAEM) is pleased to announce a request for applications for a new Mentorship Program. NCAEM is comprised of national experts working together to implement the Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department (EMED) Toolkit. We recognize that improving elder mistreatment identification, intervention, and prevention requires supporting people with a broad range of interests and careers, and we ask for your help in this by circulating the attached flyer about the mentorship program.

This 1-year mentorship program is intended to identify and support clinicians and service providers, researchers, policy makers and advocates from multiple disciplines who wish to focus on improving care for older adults experiencing or at risk of experiencing elder mistreatment. Applicants representing or working with underserved populations are encouraged to apply.

Mentees in this program will:

  • be paired with an expert mentor who has shared interests and experience
  • meet with their mentor at least monthly, virtually or in person
  • design and complete a project of their choosing
  • attend (travel and hotel expenses paid by the program) and present their project at a special 2-day convening in Bethesda, MD in June 2023

For more information and to download the application form please visit: https://www.edc.org/NCAEM-mentorship Applications are due Friday, 6/03/22 at 11:59PM ET.

If you have any questions about the NCAEM Mentorship program or the application process, please reach out to me directly or e-mail NCAEM@edc.org.
