BGS Trainees Meeting

This annual 2 days meeting is organized by geriatric medicine trainees, for those in training roles, to identify and address key training and learning points within the specialty. This meeting has applied for 12 credits of live CPD credit (expires 17 July 2022) and 12 credits Distance learning CPD accreditation (expires 17 June 2023) from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP)

Acute Care, Peri-operative care for surgical patients, Primary and Community Care, Education, Training and Careers

Built around the current curriculum needs and experiences of those training for a career in geriatric medicine, it will see a mix of plenary presentations and workshops, a mock SCE exam, a Quality Improvement workshop, updates on the Curriculum changes and a practical interview preparation workshop.

• The meeting will be of benefit to all trainees in geriatric medicine and related specialties, as well as GPs, Advanced and Specialist practitioners, and other healthcare professionals involved in healthcare of older people
• Internal Medicine Trainees  (especially those considering a career in geriatric medicine)
• SAS Grade Doctors – Specialist and Associate Specialists
• Doctors training in related specialties
• GP trainees

The meeting will also be relevant, although not directly aimed at the educational needs of:

• Nurses and allied health professions
• Advanced and Specialist practitioners, Consultant Practitioners/Consultant Nurses
• Physician Associates
