AGS Annual Scientific Meeting
The AGS Annual Scientific Meeting is the premier educational event in geriatrics, providing the latest information on clinical care, research on aging, and innovative models of care delivery. Our Annual Scientific Meeting addresses the educational needs of geriatrics professionals from all disciplines. Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, social workers, long-term care and managed care providers, health care administrators, and others can update their knowledge and skills through state-of-the-art educational sessions and research presentations.

Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative
The John A. Hartford Foundation and The Gary and Mary West Health Institute launched the Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative (GEDC) to further enhance emergency department (ED) care for older adults. The program brings together experts from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), and a growing number of hospitals and health systems.

With support from the John A. Hartford Foundation, the AGS and the Association of Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs (ADGAP) have developed an innovative program to improve care for older adults hospitalized with hip fractures. -
AGS CoCare: HELP™
AGS CoCare: HELPTM provides the latest tools and hands-on guidance to make delirium prevention a reality. Subscriptions offer access to a range of resources, from a comprehensive implementation toolkit and online educational curriculum for staff & volunteers to a certification program, routine coaching calls, and online community. -
The Geriatrics-for-Specialists Initiative
The Geriatrics-for-Specialists Initiative (GSI) has conducted collaborative activities with numerous organizations and leaders in academic medicine, all designed to increase awareness of and knowledge in the care of older adults among surgical and related medical specialists.

The Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program Coordinating Center
Across this three-year initiative, the AGS will create and oversee a GWEP Coordinating Center funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation to provide assistance to GWEP sites through national meetings, networking opportunities, mentoring, a centralized repository of resources for professional and public education, and site visit consultations with geriatrics experts.

Older Driver Traffic Safety Initiative
A collaboration between the AGS and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is putting healthcare professionals on the road to success for assessing and counseling older drivers.

U13 Bench-to-Bedside Conference Series
The AGS will continue a series of prestigious scientific conferences on emerging issues in geriatrics thanks to sustained funding from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) as part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Conference Cooperative Agreement (or “U13”) Program.

Reframing Aging
In 2014, the AGS and seven other leading aging-focused organizations formed an unprecedented partnership, the Leaders of Aging Organizations (LAO), to create a better public understanding of older adults’ needs and contributions to society—and subsequently to improve health and care for us all as we age.

Emerging Leaders in Aging Program
The AGS has partnered with Tideswell at UCSF and the Association of Geriatric Academic Programs (ADGAP) on a National Leadership Development Program. The program is designed for emerging leaders in the field of aging, offering a hands-on, practical platform for developing clinical, research, policy, and education skills.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Program
AGS has partnered with UCLA to disseminate and market their award-winning Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care (ADC) Program. The ADC Program is designed to help patients and their families with the complex medical, behavioral and social needs of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. Dissemination of The ADC Program is an opportunity under a UCLA grant with the support of The John A. Hartford Foundation.
