Opportunity Description:

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) intends to release the Healthy Aging: Optimizing Physical and Mental Functioning across the Aging Continuum Targeted PCORI Funding Announcement on September 7, 2022.

Through this targeted funding announcement, PCORI seeks to fund high-quality, comparative effectiveness research projects that focus on optimizing physical and mental functioning for community-dwelling older adults and their caregivers, addressing one or more of the following domains in the aging continuum: 1) maintaining function and independence, 2) facilitating chronic disease management, 3) supporting individuals with significant functional impairment, and 4) reducing caregiving burden and improving quality of life.

Applications focused on the needs of underserved, underrepresented, or historically excluded populations will be encouraged. Interventions may be delivered in primary and specialty care clinics as well as in home and community-based settings. Applicants will be asked to propose well-justified outcomes that are clinically meaningful and considered important by patients and/or their caregivers.

View the full preannouncement on the PCORI website for details, and those interested in applying can register to attend the Applicant Town Hall on September 20, 2022, at noon (ET), where researchers and stakeholders will learn more about this upcoming funding announcement.
