Access the AGS/ADGAP Making the Business Case for Geriatrics Toolkit on GeriatricsCareOnline.
An AGS and ADGAP member benefit, this toolkit is a compendium of proven strategies and communication tools (e.g., slide decks, spreadsheets, economic arguments or analyses, evaluations of entering risk-based contracts) to support in making the case for a new program/idea or expansion of an existing service at their own institutions. The resources in the case studies were refined with guidance from the AGS/ADGAP Business Case Toolkit Workgroup with the goal of sharing with AGS and ADGAP members so that the strategies and tools can be adapted and implemented for making the case at their own institutions.
We are continuing to look for members to submit case studies with tools and strategies to share as a part of the Business Case Toolkit – both those that were successful and those that sizzled. Tools can be for any point in the arc of a program (e.g., obtaining C-Suite buy-in, start up, sustainability). Please complete the toolkit form on SurveyMonkey. This form requests background information (e.g., key stakeholders, arguments for change, challenges, formulas) that you used to make the case for a new program/idea or expansion of an existing service. Please provide as much information as possible, but you don’t have to complete all comment boxes if some are not applicable. The Business Case Toolkit Workgroup Members will work with you on refining your tool to share nationally.
Ready to submit a tool or have questions? Contact Anna Kim (akim@americangeriatrics.org) or Marianna Drootin (mdrootin@americangeriatrics.org).
