Submit Your Abstract For Annual Meetings 

Want to present your research on a national stage? Submit an abstract of original research for presentation as a paper or poster at the Annual Meeting. 

Abstracts are solicited in the following categories: Case Series & Case Studies, Clinical Innovation & Quality Improvement, Clinical Trials, Epidemiology, Ethics & Qualitative Research, Geriatric Bioscience, Geriatric Education, Geriatric Medicine in Other Specialties, Geriatric Syndromes, Health Services & Policy Research, and Neurologic & Behavioral Science.

 

Apply to be an Abstract Reviewer 

Each year, the AGS Research Committee puts out a call for Abstract Reviewers who are willing to share their time and expertise to review abstracts for the Annual Meeting. Accepted reviewers will be asked to review approximately 50 abstracts in the categories of their choice. 

To become an Abstract Reviewer, you must meet the criteria listed below, submit a biosketch (NIH- style, 4 pages maximum) and complete the short application form here to identify your areas of expertise.

Abstract Reviewer Criteria:

  • must have first-authored two or more peer-reviewed original manuscripts
  • must have advanced degree training (MD, PhD, MPH, PharmD, MS, etc..) or equivalent non-clinical health care degree

By volunteering your time and expertise, you will play an integral role in ensuring that the Annual Meeting is host to cutting edge research focused on improving care of older adults. 

 

Submit an Annual Meeting Symposium

Have an idea for a session at the next annual meeting? Immediately following the meeting in May, the AGS Annual Scientific Meeting Program Committee puts out a call for symposium submissions for the following year's Annual Scientific Meeting. Proposals are submitted through our online submission site. The call for symposium proposals opens at the end of May are typically due toward the end of June each year. 

The AGS Annual Meeting brings together health care professionals from multiple disciplines, with the common objective of disseminating the most up-to-date information on the special health care needs of older people. The annual meeting addresses clinical, research, ethical, academic, and public policy issues pertinent to geriatrics. In order to continue to present a current and appealing program of high quality and strong educational benefit, the AGS concentrates on new areas in geriatrics, as well as on new findings on topics we have explored in the past.

Submit A Nomination for An AGS Award

Are you or do you know an individual with outstanding work in geriatrics clinical practice, education, and research? Each year, the AGS seeks nominations for national awards that recognize individuals who contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare for older people.
