AGS volunteer leaders are vital to the American Geriatrics Society’s efforts to insure that older adults have access to high-quality, person-centered care. Your contributions of time and expertise to committee, section, or SIG membership are one of our most important and valued resources.
AGS Committee members are offered a wide range of opportunities to lead and serve on subcommittee and committee projects which help advance the field of geriatrics and provide better care for our ever growing older adult population.
All Committees meet virtually twice a year in the spring and fall. Additionally, there are opportunities to network at the AGS Annual Meeting in years where the AGS is holding an in-person meeting in May. The AGS is currently piloting an alternating schedule of face-to-face (2025, 2027) and virtual (2024, 2026) meetings.
AGS Members who are applying for an AGS Committee (New and Renewing Committee applicants) are asked to complete the Nominations Form and update their member demographics information. Only those who complete both steps of the process will be considered as a complete application. Committee applications are due January 8th, 2024.
