Fellowship in the AGS
AGS Fellow Status (AGSF) is awarded to AGS members who have demonstrated a professional commitment to geriatrics, contributed to the progress of geriatrics care, and are active participants in the Society's activities. AGS Fellows join a specially recognized group of healthcare providers who are dedicated to geriatrics education, clinical care, and research, as well as to their own continuing professional development. Fellows have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, as well as in their communities and in the Society by their service.

Physician Membership
Membership for a licensed physician with special training or interest in geriatrics.
Nurse Membership
Membership for a licensed Nurse with special training or interest in geriatrics.
Social Worker
Membership for a licensed social worker with special training or interest in geriatrics.
Physician Associate
Membership for a licensed physician associate with special training or interest in geriatrics.
Pharmacist
Membership for a licensed pharmacist with special training or interest in geriatrics.
International Membership
Membership for licensed physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, physician assistants, or other healthcare professionals residing in countries classified at middle or low income by the World Bank are eligible for this discounted membership category.
Other Healthcare Professional
Membership for a non-physician healthcare professional on a geriatrics interdisciplinary team.
Recognized
Membership for health care professionals who have returned to school to further their education in geriatrics or gerontology while continuing to work. This membership category is limited to a one-year term.
Fellow-in-Training
Membership for those currently enrolled in a full-time fellowship program.

E-membership offers residents, post-graduate trainees and students with a way to stay connected via member communications and special announcements for trainees interested in geriatrics. E-membership does not include member journals or the Geriatrics at Your Fingertips subscription. Membership is valid through the length of your program and will expire at the end of your graduation/residency end month.

Join Our Mentoring Program
The AGS offers opportunities for trainees and junior faculty to connect with active members of the AGS who serve as mentors. AGS mentors offer invaluable advice concerning educational and career choices. Mentoring relationships can be particularly important for healthcare trainees, who are presented with a wide array of options that help determine the focus of their careers.

Founded in 1942, the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) is a nationwide, not-for-profit society of geriatrics healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the health, independence, and quality of life of older people. Our 6,000+ members include geriatricians, geriatrics nurse practitioners, social workers, family practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and internists who are pioneers in advanced-illness care for older individuals, with a focus on championing interprofessional teams, eliciting personal care goals, and treating older people as whole persons.
History
Founded in 1942, the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) is a nationwide, nonprofit organization comprised of nearly 6,000 geriatrics healthcare professionals. For more than seven decades, the AGS has been leading efforts in patient care, research, professional and public education, and public policy—all aimed at improving the health, independence, and quality of life of all older people.
